Sichuan Airlines launches 54 new weekly service

  • Sichuan Airlines stand to increase its respective networks in two of three of its main hubs at the start of the Summer 2013 season, with Chongqing (CKG) and Kunming (KMG) attracting three of the nine new routes initiated this week (the airline’s primary base in Chengdu sees no new routes). Of the nine services starting this week, the Chongqing to Lanzhou (LHW) operation is the shortest at just 763 kilometres, while delivering a 1,867 kilometre sector length is Yinchuan (INC) to Harbin (HRB), some 46% longer than the average route distance of all these new flights. Interestingly, this carrier is 10% part-owned by fellow new route airline Shandong Airlines, as well as China Southern Airlines (39%) and Shanghai Airlines (10%).
