Czech Airlines continues expansion in the Russian market; adds flights to Zürich and Nice

  • Czech Airlines inaugurated three new routes from its Prague (PRG) hub on 31 March. The airline continues expanding its coverage of the Russian market, as it launched twice-weekly flights to Perm (PEE). The city, located in the foothills of the Urals, is already served from Prague by Tatarstan Airlines, whose weekly operation provides competition to the newly launched Czech Airlines service. The SkyTeam airline now flies a total of 11 routes to Russia, from both Prague and Karlovy Vary. In addition, on 1 April, the carrier resumed services to Zürich (ZRH), which it last offered in October 2011, and plans to boost the initial nine weekly frequencies with an additional weekly flight from May 2013. The airline also started operations on two Italian routes in the course of last week.
