Iberia launches new routes to North Africa from both Alicante and Valencia

  • Iberia increased its offering to Algeria last week, as it launched two new routes to this North African country. Beginning on 30 March, the IAG-owned carrier inaugurated services on the route from Alicante (ALC) to Oran (ORN) on the western Mediterranean coast of the country and now operates a four-weekly schedule using variable equipment. Competition in the market from Alicante to Oran is provided by Air Algerie, which operates six-weekly services on the route. On the following day, Iberia also added single weekly flights on the 450-kilometre route from Valencia (VLC) to Algiers (ALG). CRJ900 equipment is deployed on the route.
