Juneyao Airlines launches Hangzhou operations
- Juneyao Airlines, the Chinese regional airline, inaugurated its new base in Hangzhou (HGH) in the Eastern Chinese Zhejiang Province this week, launching services to five new destinations with its 158-seat A320s. While it faces substantial competition from industry heavyweights like Air China, China Southern Airlines and China Eastern Airlines on three of these routes (Guiyang, Qingdao and Taiyuan), on the remaining two it will be the only airline operating flights. However, the most severe competition is saved for its Wenzhou (WNZ) to Changsha (CSX) route, where its daily offering will represent less than 15% of weekly flights on the 750-kilometre city pair.
