Myanmar Airways International launches first international destination from Mandalay

  • Myanmar Airways International inaugurated flights on the 1,000-kilometre route from Mandalay (MDL), Burma’s second-largest city and the last royal capital, to Bangkok (BKK) on 31 March. Daily services are now operated to the Thai capital, which the Burmese carrier already serves with twice-daily flights from Yangon, using A320s. Competition on the route comes from the Thai Airways subsidiary, Thai Smile’s five weekly departures.
