Shandong Airlines starts-up eight new city pairs

  • Shandong Airlines, owned by Air China, used the start of the summer season to introduce eight new domestic routes from four Chinese airports. The main airport beneficiary is Xiamen (XMN), which witnessed services inaugurated to Guilin (KWL), Dalian (DLC), Shenyang (SHE) and Xi’an (XIY). Flights to the former, the city located in the northeast of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, represents the route where Shandong Airlines will encounter the stiffest competition, with 18 competing frequencies from three airlines. However, 50% of its new services will see it become the sole operator on the respective routes.
