Air China launched flights on its fifth route to Changchun (CGQ) on 2 April and now flies to the capital of the north-eastern Chinese Jilin province from Hangzhou (HGH) in Eastern China. This stopping service operates via Yantai (YNT) with four-weekly frequencies using A319s. Competition on the route comes from China Southern Airlines’ (twice-daily) and Xiamen Airlines’ (daily) direct services from Hangzhou to Changchun, while Sichuan Airlines operates daily flights via Tianjin. In addition to Hangzhou, Air China links Changchun with Beijing (42 weekly frequencies), Chengdu (daily) and Wuhan (thrice-weekly via Yantai).
