Spirit Airlines expands in Dallas/Fort Worth
- Spirit Airlines increased the number of destinations it serves from Dallas/Fort Worth, TX (DFW) to 21, as it launched two new routes on 4 April. The low-cost carrier now offers daily flights to both Minneapolis/St Paul, MN (MSP) and Philadelphia, PA (PHL). Spirit Airlines faces competition in both new markets, as it will compete with Delta Air Lines (46 weekly frequencies), American Airlines (39) and Sun Country Airlines (7) on the route to Minneapolis/St Paul, as well as with American (39) and US Airways (39) on the route to Philadelphia.
