  • American Airlines further expanded its global route network from its Chicago O’Hare (ORD) hub and commencing on 11 April it now flies to Germany’s international trade and business city, Düsseldorf (DUS). On the launch day, American’s Vice President – Chicago, Franco Tedeschi said: “This new route augments our existing European services from Chicago and the route launched recently by our oneworld and codeshare partner, airberlin, from O’Hare to Berlin. Having two new fights to Germany is a win-win for Chicago business and leisure travellers.” The newly launched daily service became the airline’s 19th international destination from its Chicago hub and will compete with existing four-weekly flights operated by Lufthansa on the same route.
