Last Virgin Atlantic domestic route to Aberdeen gets up and running

Virgin Atlantic Heathrow to Aberdeen

Arriving to leaden skies on the first Virgin Atlantic flight from London Heathrow in Aberdeen is the aptly named A320 ‘Tartan Lassie’. The start of thrice daily flights is welcomed by Edmond Rose, Virgin’s Commercial Director, flanked by two hostesses, Trish Murray and Leslie Harris.

  • Following the start-up of flights to Manchester and Edinburgh over the last two weeks, Virgin Atlantic began its thrice daily operation to the UK’s oil capital of Aberdeen (ABZ) in Scotland from London Heathrow (LHR) – the last of its new domestic services being launched for Summer 2013. Using Aer Lingus aircraft under a wet-lease agreement, the two cities will be connected by the Irish flag carrier’s A320s, but flown in Virgin colours. Nearly three times as many flights are offered by the competition – 55 weekly services from British Airways.
