The arrival of SunExpress from İzmir was welcomed with the traditional water cannon salute in the south-eastern Turkish town of Batman.
- SunExpress inaugurated services on two new routes last week from İzmir (ADB), one domestic and one international. On 2 May, the carrier commenced flights from Turkey’s third most populous city to Oslo (OSL) in Norway. The service, which was last operated by the airline in October 2010, is offered with a weekly frequency. On 6 May, SunExpress added a domestic service to its offering from Izmir, as it started flying to Batman (BAL) located in south-eastern Turkey. Flights on the 1,200-kilometre route are performed with thrice-weekly frequencies. The airline uses 737-800s to operate both routes.
