MEA inaugurates flights to Najaf, its third destination in Iraq
- MEA, the flag carrier of Lebanon, expanded its offering in Iraq last week, as it commenced operations on the 900-kilometre route from its Beirut (BEY) base to Najaf (NJF) on 15 May. The carrier, which already serves two Iraqi cities (Baghdad and Erbil) with daily flights, offers a twice-weekly schedule on the newly launched route. Iraqi Airways provides competition in the market from Beirut to Najaf, which it serves with four-weekly flights. A321s are used by MEA on the route.
