Ukraine International Airlines arrives in Munich

Ribbon-cutting to the tune of traditional Bavarian songs accompanied the launch of Ukraine International Airlines’ service from Munich to Kiev. The airline already served two points in Germany – Berlin Tegel and Frankfurt – each with daily flights.

  • Ukraine International Airlines continued its international expansion last week with the launch of daily flights on the 1,400-kilometre route from Kiev Borispol (KBP) to Munich (MUC) on 2 June. Initially scheduled to operate using 737-500, flights will be carried out using E190s from 6 July. Lufthansa provides competition on the route, which it serves with twice-daily frequencies. In addition, on 31 May the Ukrainian carrier commenced seasonal services from its Kiev hub to Thessaloniki (SKG), offering twice-weekly flights until 28 September. 737-500s are used to operate flights to this Greek destination.
