Vietjetair’s second route to Bangkok received a warm welcome in the Thai capital. The carrier faces considerable competition in the market between Hanoi and Bangkok with a total of 48 weekly flights offered by other carriers.
- Vietjetair added a second route to Bangkok (BKK) on 1 June, and now serves the Thai capital from Hanoi (HAN) in addition to the existing route from Ho Chi Minh City. Daily flights are operated on the route using A320s. Direct competition on the route comes from Vietnam Airlines (20 weekly services), Thai Airways (14) and Qatar Airways (7), with further daily flights from Hanoi to Bangkok Don Mueang operated by Thai AirAsia.
