Transaero now serves Sochi from St Petersburg
- Transaero, launched flights to Adler/Sochi (AER), a popular Russian resort and host city of the next Winter Olympic games, from its secondary base in St Petersburg (LED). Commencing 8 June, the airline serves the route with weekly frequencies using 112-seat 737-500 equipment until mid-September. Transaero faces substantial competition, provided by Rossiya Airlines (13 weekly flights), DonAvia (7) and UTair (7), all serving the city-pair on a year-round basis.
