Virgin America launches San Francisco to Anchorage flights

San Francisco gone wild: Virgin America celebrated its inaugural service to Anchorage with a gate event at the departure airport.
- Virgin America commenced services on the 3,200-kilometre route from San Francisco, CA (SFO) to Anchorage, AK (ANC) on 6 June. The route, which is Virgin America’s only service to Alaska, is offered with six weekly frequencies on a seasonal basis, and scheduled to terminate on 4 September. United Airlines provides competition operating a twice-weekly schedule on the route.
