WOW air opens seasonal routes from Iceland to Amsterdam and Barcelona
- WOW air, the low-cost Icelandic operator, increased the island’s connectivity in the high summer season with the launch of two routes from its Reykjavik/Keflavik (KEF) base to mainland Europe last week. On 5 June, operations to Amsterdam (AMS) commenced, followed by the addition of services to Barcelona (BCN) two days later. Flights to both destinations are offered with twice-weekly frequencies and operated using the airline’s fleet of four A320s. WOW air faces competition from Icelandair on both routes (12 and one weekly flights respectively), as well as from Vueling’s weekly service to Barcelona.
