Etihad Airways launches first route to South Eastern Europe

Celebrating Etihad’s arrival in the Serbian capital were Vesna Savic, cabin crew member; Suliman Yaqoobi, Captain on the inaugural flight; Violeta Jovanović, Belgrade Airport’s CFO; Joost den Hartog, Etihad Airways’ VP Europe; Aisha Al Mansoori, first officer; and Jekaterina Dremova, cabin manager.

  • Etihad Airways became the first MEB3 carrier to operate services to Belgrade (BEG), making the Serbian capital its first destination in South Eastern Europe on 15 June. The carrier offers daily flights on the 3,800-kilometre route from Abu Dhabi (AUH) using A319s. While no other MEB3 carrier operates nonstop to Belgrade, Qatar Airways offers thrice-weekly flights via Ankara. In addition, flydubai operates a four-weekly schedule from Dubai.
