Wizz Air inaugurates five routes, including its first route to Baku and second to Tel Aviv

Wizz Air’s Budapest to Baku

Wizz Air’s János Barits, Airport Development Manager; and Patrick Bohl, Budapest Airport’s Head of Airline Business Development, celebrated the airline’s inaugural flight to Baku together with the operating crew.

Basel Airport welcomed Wizz Air’s new service to Tuzla in Bosnia and Herzegovina with a special cake, here presented by the crew operating the inaugural service.

  • Wizz Air expanded its offering from nine airports last week, as it launched five new low frequency routes. On 15 June, the low-cost carrier inaugurated services on the 1,600 kilometre route from Bucharest (OTP) to Tel Aviv (TLV), its second service to the Israeli city following daily flights from Budapest. Two days later, Wizz Air added its first route from Budapest (BUD) to the Caucasus and now offers twice-weekly frequencies to Baku (GYD). This new service constitutes the first ever non-stop link between Hungary and Azerbaijan.
