The statue of St. Sofia adorned the cake baked to welcome Bulgaria Air’s arrival in the Hungarian capital. Budapest Airport’s Sándor Saly, Airline Development Manager, presented the bake to the crew operating the inaugural service.
- Bulgaria Air, which already serves Prague in Central Europe, has now added Budapest (BUD) as another destination in the region from its Sofia (SOF) base. Beginning on 24 June, the airline operates four-weekly services on the 600-kilometre route using E190s. The route between the two capitals had previously been previously by Malev, and later also by Wizz Air. In fact, Bulgaria Air’s first attempt at operating the service was in July 2012, but proved short-lived.
