Air Canada rouge starts flights to Edinburgh and Venice
Air Canada rouge, the new venture leisure airline from Air Canada, which is profiled this week, launched with a total of 14 routes. However, 12 of these were previously served by Air Canada mainline. The only genuinely new routes were from from Toronto (YYZ) to Edinburgh (EDI) and Venice (VCE), both of which will be operated with three weekly flights for the rest of the summer season using 767-300s. The carrier faces competition only on the 6,900-kilometre route to northern Italy, with Air Transat offering a weekly schedule to Venice.
