Malindo Air bites into Firefly’s territory with three new routes
- Malindo Air commenced operations on three new domestic routes on 1 August, all of which were launched from Kuala Lumpur Subang (SZB) and face competition from at least one airline. The airline’s CEO, Chandran Rama Muthy, commented: “Malindo Air’s emergence at Subang Airport has been warmly received by the public. Our flights to Kota Baru have been flying with more than 90% capacity most of the time. Following such encouraging response since the launch of our Subang operations, we have decided to implement the new routes.” Malindo Air, which launched earlier this year and now has nearly 7% of the domestic seat capacity, operates a total of six routes from Kuala Lumpur’s secondary airport.
