Malaysia Airlines resumes its route between Kuala Lumpur and Dubai
- Malaysia Airlines resumed flights to the major Middle Eastern hub, Dubai (DXB), from Kuala Lumpur (KUL) after a 19-month hiatus. The oneworld carrier offers a daily service using a 777-200 on the 5,550-kilometre route, which was reinstated on 5 August. The airline’s Commercial Director, Dr Hugh Noel Dunleavy said, “We see great potential in Dubai. Dubai is a tourism, trade and logistics hub which has earned itself the reputation as being the gateway between the east and the west. Home to just over 2 million people of more than 200 nationalities, Dubai is one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world. With world-class shopping and leisure facilities, Dubai is a popular destination for business and leisure.” he said. Competition on the route is provided by Emirates who operate four daily flights.
