Juneyao Airlines launches first cross-straits service

Juneyao Airlines launched its first cross-straits service on 1 November, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The airline now links Shanghai Pudong Airport and Kaohsiung Airport with thrice-weekly flights, competing with China Airlines and EVA Air.

  • Juneyao Airlines has launched its first scheduled cross-straits service from Shanghai Pudong (PVG) to Kaohsiung (KHH). Service on the 960-kilometre route began on 1 November, with the airline operating thrice-weekly flights (Wednesdays, Fridays, Sundays) using one of its 30-plus 157-seat A320s. Competition on the route is provided by China Airlines (four weekly flights) and EVA Air (thrice-weekly flights). Flights between Shanghai and Taipei will follow on 1 December.
