Avianca arrives in New York Newark
- Avianca added New York Newark, NJ (EWR) as the second New York airport in its network last week. Beginning on 8 November, the carrier offers four weekly services on the 3,400-kilometre route from San Salvador (SAL). A320s are deployed on the route, which is operated by Taca Airlines and will see its frequencies lifted to daily from 1 December. United Airlines provides competition in the market from San Salvador to Newark, which it serves with a weekly schedule. Avianca already operates to another New York airport, JFK, from Bogota (14 weekly flights) and Medellin (four), as well as from San Salvador (13) and San Pedro Sula (two).
