Thomas Cook begins Barbados and St Lucia from Manchester Airport

Ready to eat route launch cake at Manchester Airport were (left to right): Jean-Marc Flambert, St Lucia Tourist Board; Stephen Turner – M.A.G; Brooke Vincent from soap opera Coronation Street (basically Manchester royalty); John Boler, FD of Thomas Cook Airlines; and Cedric Lynch, Barbados Tourism. Err…(cough) is that an A320 or A330 on top of that cake?

  • Thomas Cook Airlines added two further points to its long-haul network from Manchester (MAN) on 10 November, commencing services to both Barbados (BGI) and St Lucia (UVF). The A330-operated weekly route (Sundays) stops initially in St Lucia, before taking the 20-minute hop over to Barbados. The latter destination will be increased to twice-weekly on 19 December when the airline starts another weekly flight, this time via Antigua. According to Innovata data, competition comes from Thomson Airways (thrice-weekly) and Virgin Atlantic Airways (weekly) on Barbados, with no competition to St Lucia.
