Allegiant Air strengthens its domestic network

Allegiant Air’s MD80 was welcomed with a water cannon salute at Charlottesville on Thursday 21 November.
- Allegiant Air, which is the world’s second most profitable airline, added five domestic routes to its offering during the course of last week, all using its 166-seat MD80s. With the longest sector being the 2,620-kilometre service from Orlando Sanford, FL (SFB) to Bismarck, ND (BIS), and the shortest being again from the airline’s Florida hub, but this time to Charlottesville, VA (CHO) at 1,070-kilometres, Allegiant faces no direct competition on any of the five new services. Charlottesville is a new destination for the carrier.
