- American Airlines extended its network offering last week with the launch of eight new services. Six of the new city pairs are international routes, with the 7,936-kilometre service from Miami, FL (MIA) to Milan Malpensa (MXP) being the longest. On only one of these routes does the oneworld carrier face direct competition — namely on the domestic service between New York LaGuardia, NY (LGA) and West Palm Beach, FL (PBI), and in the form of JetBlue Airways.
