Hong Kong Express hops onto Hong Kong to Osaka Kansai

The first Hong Kong Express flight arrived at Osaka Kansai on 21 November.

  • Hong Kong Express, Hong Kong’s only home-based LCC, inaugurated flights between Hong Kong (HKG) and Japan’s third largest city Osaka Kansai (KIX) on 21 November. The service became the carrier’s second destination into Japan, and follows quickly after its 7 November launch to Tokyo Haneda. Offering a daily operation with its 174-seat A320s, the 2,453-kilometre city pair is already hotly-contested, with four incumbents on the route – namely Air India (thrice-weekly), Cathay Pacific Airways (21), Peach Aviation (14) and All Nippon Airways (daily).
