  • Thai Lion Air, the new Bangkok-based subsidiary of Indonesia’s Lion Air, has launched its first route from Bangkok Don Mueang (DMK) to Chiang Mai (CNX). It will serve the 565-kilometre domestic route with thrice-daily flights, but faces intense competition from Thai AirAsia (12 daily flights) and Nok Air (10 daily flights). Flights will be operated by the airline’s 215-seat 737-900ERs.
