BQB Líneas Aéreas adds three more routes from Montevideo

  • BQB Líneas Aéreas, the unofficial flag carrier of Uruguay, launched three new services from Montevideo (MVD), now serving a total of eight routes from its main base. The airline inaugurated on 14 December a seasonal service to Florianopolis (FLN) in Brazil, which will be operated weekly (Saturdays) until 8 March, utilising its 151-seat A320s. On 15 December, BQB began six weekly flights to Santiago (SCL) in Chile, using its 151-seat A320s, while on 16 December a new service was launched to Curitiba (CWB) in Brazil, which is served four times weekly by the carrier’s 68-seat ATR 72s. Only the 1,370-kilometre sector to the busiest airport in Chile faces direct competition, from LAN Airlines’ twice-daily services.
