Meridiana launches several new routes to Greece

Meridiana launched thrice-weekly flights from Naples to Athens International Airport (AIA) on Friday 6 June. Celebrating the launch in Athens were (left to right): Katerina Pollatou, Head of Airline Marketing, AIA; Marina Papageorgiou, Head of Press Office, AIA; Ioanna Papadopoulou, Director, Communications & Marketing, AIA; and Harris Filos, Airline Developer, AIA. Joining Ioanna in cutting a ribbon was Giovanni Matassa, Director of Sales, Meridiana. Unfortunately, the water arch salute photo was received too late to enter this week’s “Arch of Triumph” competition.

  • Meridiana launched several new routes in the last week. Of the eight new routes, five were to destinations in Greece, with the other three in Geneva (GVA), Moscow Domodedovo (DME) and Palma de Mallorca (PMI). easyJet provides direct competition on three of the routes, Ryanair on two, while SWISS joins easyJet in already serving the Olbia (OLB) market from Geneva. Six of the eight routes will be served with just a single weekly frequency during the peak summer season.
