Iberia re-starts Madrid to Amsterdam, but under Iberia Express banner

Follow me to the ribbon-cutting. Doing the honours at Amsterdam for the launch of the double-daily service from Madrid, operated by Iberia Express are: Katinka van Ekeren, Commercial Manager The Netherlands, British Airways; Fernando Curcio Ruigómez, Deputy Head of Mission Embassy of Spain; Jasper Spruit, Director Aviation Marketing, Amsterdam Airport; and Paloma Utrera, Sales Representative, Iberia.

  • Iberia reintroduced operations on 1 July between Madrid (MAD) and Amsterdam (AMS) having pulled off the city pair in January 2013. This time around the double-daily service is operated by Iberia Express, the lower operating cost subsidiary of the mainline carrier, using its A320s. In terms of the incumbents on the route, KLM offers a five times daily operation, while Air Europa flies double-daily. From 1 September the airline anticipates increasing its operation to thrice-daily. See how Amsterdam Airport’s FTWA compares to the others sent in this week from around the world.
