Transaero Airlines launched its 12th domestic destination from Moscow Domodedovo on 11 September, to Astrakhan. First Deputy General Director of Transaero Airlines Dmitry Stolyarov and General Director of OJSC Astrakhan Airport Ziyautdin Abdurakhmanov get to grips with the new route cake.
- Transaero Airlines has further improved its domestic offer from its Moscow Domodedovo (DME) hub — its biggest in terms of weekly seats available — this time starting twice-weekly (Thursdays and Sundays) services to Astrakhan (ASF) on 11 September. Operated by the carrier’s 122-seat 737-500s, the 1,233-kilometre sector, its 12th domestic route from Domodedovo, will encounter direct competition from S7 Airlines, which operates a daily service. In addition, Aeroflot does provide indirect competition from Moscow Sheremetyevo, with a thrice-daily operation, as does UTair, which has a daily service from Moscow Vnukovo. See how Astrakhan Airport’s FTWA compares to the others sent in this week from around the world.
