Air Arabia adds Abadan to its network
- Air Arabia will now be operating 14 weekly flights to Iran, following the addition of thrice-weekly services to Abadan (ABD) from its main hub of Sharjah (SHJ). The 898-kilometre sector will become the LCC’s fifth destination in Iran, joining Tehran (thrice-weekly), Lar (twice-weekly), Mashhad (twice-weekly) and Shiraz (four times weekly). The city pair, commenced on 15 October, will face no competition and will be flown by the airline’s 162-seat A320s. This appears to be Abadan Airport’s only international service at present. Last year the airport handled over 350,000 passengers.
