Malindo Air continues to grow its regional network with the introduction on 17 October of two new routes from Ipoh (IPH) in Malaysia. A new international service to Medan (MED) in Indonesia was launched that day along with the 433-kilometre domestic link to Johor Bahru (JHB). Both new routes will operate four times weekly and be flown by the airline’s ATR 72-600s. The only competition on either route comes from firefly who operate four times weekly on the Johor Bahru connection. Malindo Air launched its first flights from Ipoh to Kuala Lumpur Subang on 3 October.
