American Airlines expands domestic network with three routes

The crew on the inaugural Los Angeles to Tampa service operated by American Airlines were welcomed in the Floridian airport by this fabulous three-tiered, Hollywood-inspired masterpiece.

  • American Airlines continued to expand domestically with the addition of three new connections on 6 November. The biggest airline in the world, following the merger with US Airways last December, added 12 weekly flights from Dallas/Fort Worth, TX (DFW) to Meridian Key, MS (MEI), utilising ExpressJet Airlines’ 50-seat CRJ 200s. Moreover, these flights continued on the 111-kilometre sector from Meridian Key, MS (MEI) to Laurel, MS (PIB). Besides this, the oneworld member also introduced daily flights on the 3,473-kilometre airport pair from Los Angeles, CA (LAX) to Tampa, FL (TPA), a route served by the airline’s 150-seat 737-800s. American will face direct competition only on the route to Tampa from Delta Air Lines’ 10 weekly services.
