VietJetAir starts 11th domestic route from Ho Chi Minh City
VietJetAir has made Thanh Hoa (THD) the latest airport on its growing network. The Vietnamese LCC on 25 November began daily flights on the 1,104-kilometre route to Ho Chi Minh City (SGN) using its A320s. This raises to 11 the number of domestic destinations served by VietJetAir from the country’s largest city. The route is already served by Jetstar Pacific Airlines and Vietnam Airlines, who also both operate daily flights. As part of the airline’s promotional campaign 2,000 seats were given away free (excluding VAT, airport fees and other surcharges). Also last week, the airline received its first factory-fresh A320 from Toulouse, the first of an order of 100 aircraft that was finalised at the Singapore Air Show in February 2014. In a busy week for the airline it also announced on 24 November that it plans to start flights from various Vietnamese destinations to Vladivostok in Russia.
