Garuda Indonesia enhanced its Chinese network with the introduction of non-stop flights on Monday 12 January between Denpasar (DPS) on the island of Bali and Beijing (PEK). The thrice-weekly service will depart Bali at 21:45 on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The return flights from Beijing operate in the early morning of Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The 5,406-kilometre service will usually be flown by the carrier’s A330-200s and will face direct competition from China Eastern Airlines, who also operate the route thrice-weekly. Garuda already serves Beijing from Jakarta with four weekly flights, while the SkyTeam member also operates daily flights from Jakarta to Guangzhou (using 737-800s) and Shanghai Pudong (using A330s).
