- Turkmenistan Airlines started operations to its second city in Turkey, with Ankara (ESB) being added to its existing flights to Istanbul Atatürk. The new route will be flown twice-weekly (Tuesdays and Fridays) from the airline’s Ashkhabad (ASB) base by the airline’s 737-700 and -800 fleet. There is no competition on the city pair. TAV Esenboğa GM, Nuray Demirer said: “We are glad that Ankara Esenboğa Airport is connected to Ashkhabad, an important destination in Central Asia, via Turkmenistan Airlines. We offer flights to 25 destinations in 12 countries from our airport. I believe our growth in terms of passenger numbers and aircraft traffic will continue with the new destinations we add to our flight network.” Turkmenistan Airlines Station Manager Göksel Erman added: “We are happy to launch direct flights from Ankara Esenboğa Airport as of today. We would like to take this opportunity to invite Turkish people to discover Turkmenistan with the economic and high-quality alternatives we offer.”
