Okay Airways becomes ninth carrier on Xi’an-Hangzhou route

  • Okay Airways has added three new services between China and Thailand and a new domestic link. On 5 February the airline entered what might be the world’s most competitive airport pair, between Xi’an (XIY) and Hangzhou (HGH). The 1,152-kilometre route is already served by eight, yes eight, other airlines, all of which serve the route at least daily. Krabi (KBV) became the airline’s third international destination, joining Jeju in South Korea (January 2014) and Bangkok Suvarnabhumi (BKK), where scheduled services started last October from Tianjin. Okay Airways also became the first Chinese carrier to take delivery of a 737-900ER aircraft on 30 January, the first of eight that the airline has on order.
