Silver Airways expands with four new routes

On 14 February, Tampa Airport commemorated the inaugural flight of Silver Airways to Marsh Harbour in the Bahamas with a cake ceremony and a Junkanoo performance. Getting ready to cut the cake are: Chris Minner, VP Marketing, Tampa Airport; Joe Lopano, CEO, Tampa Airport; Tyrone Sawyer, Sr. Director, The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism; Phelan Ferguson, Sr. Manager, The Bahamas Tourist Office; and John Tiliacos, VP Operations, Tampa Airport.

  • Silver Airways commenced four new routes during the course of last week, all of which are operated by its 34-seat Saab 340s. Firstly, on 12 February, the airline added four weekly flights from Fort Lauderdale (FLL) to Tallahassee (TLH). In addition, on 14 February, Silver Airways expanded its seasonal offering from Orlando (MCO) with weekly flights (Saturdays) to Freeport (FPO) and North Eleuthera (ELH), which are operated until 15 August. On the same day, the airline introduced twice-weekly flights (Saturdays and Sundays) from Tampa (TPA) to Marsh Harbour (MHH), a sector served until 16 August. The carrier will face no competition on any of the four new additions. Commenting on the route launches, Sami Teittinen, CEO, Silver Airways, said: “We are proud to be the airline of choice for travel throughout the Sunshine State and the Bahamas, and we’re happy to see that both business and leisure travellers are taking advantage of our new convenient intra-Florida and Bahamas flights.”
