Sunwing Airlines starts five new seasonal winter routes
- Sunwing Airlines continued to increase its seasonal offering with the addition of five new links, all of which are served weekly by the airline’s 189-seat 737-800s. With the longest sector being the 3,877-kilometre service from Edmonton (YEG) to Manzanillo (ZLO) in Mexico, and the shortest being inaugurated from Moncton (YQM) to Orlando (MCO) at 2,445 kilometres, Sunwing will face competition on the service to Florida from Air Transat and WestJet, both operating with weekly flights. Commenting on the two new route launches from Moncton, Bernard LeBlanc, CEO, Moncton Airport, said: “We are pleased to welcome our newest destinations offered by our partner Sunwing Airlines with these new seasonal non-stop services, especially the new route to Cayo Coco, Cuba. We are very optimistic that these new services will be successful and are delighted to make these options available to travellers from our region using the GMIA, New Brunswick’s largest and fastest growing airport.”
