WestJet, the Canadian low-cost carrier, expanded its seasonal offering from Calgary (YYC) with the addition of Loreto (LTO) in Mexico on 14 February. The 2,799-kilometre sector will be served weekly (Saturdays) until 30 May, utilising the LCC’s 136-seat 737-700s. This route is not operated by any other carrier. Commenting on the route launch to Loreto, Chris Avery, VP, WesJet, said: “Today’s launch is further evidence of our longstanding commitment to provide safe, friendly and affordable air travel to Mexico. We flew more than one million seats in and out of Mexico in 2014 and this year, we’ll increase that capacity even further. As trusted brands, WestJet and WestJet Vacations are proud to be the choice of hundreds of thousands of Canadians who travel to Mexico each year.”
