bmi regional’s Jönköping to Frankfurt
On 1 March, Jönköping Airport celebrated the launch of bmi regional’s route to Frankfurt, a sector served 11 times weekly using the airline’s ERJ 145s. - bmi regional increased its Frankfurt (FRA) offering with the addition of a new service from Jönköping (JKG) in Sweden on 1 March. The 932-kilometre sector from the city situated at the southern end of Sweden’s second largest lake – Vättern – will be served 11 times weekly, utilising the airline’s 49-seat ERJ 145s. The service to Frankfurt will be operated with codeshare partner Lufthansa, a member of Star Alliance, meaning that the people of Jonkoping can now fly direct to Frankfurt and connect seamlessly to Lufthansa’s worldwide network of 235 global destinations. bmi regional already flies to Bristol from Frankfurt with 16 weekly flights. On the same day, the airline launched its second route from Jönköping (JKG), this time to Karlstad (KSD), with the addition of 11 weekly departures, utilising its 49-seat ERJ 145s. There is no direct competition on any of the carrier’s new additions. Commenting on the route launch to Frankfurt, Ulrich Link, GM Scandinavia, Finland and Baltic States, Lufthansa, said: “Our Jonkoping passengers may now enjoy quick, easy and seamless access to the Asian, African, American and European destinations within our worldwide network by transiting through our hub at Frankfurt.”
