China Southern Airlines adds Linzhi in Tibet to its network
- China Southern Airlines on 19 March began operating four times weekly on the 1,996-kilometre route between its main base at Guangzhou (CAN) and Linzhi (LZY) in Tibet. The airline’s A319s will operate the service. Linzhi Airport is almost 3,000 metres above sea level and opened in 2006. According to OAG data Linzhi’s only other scheduled services are to Chengdu (operated by Air China, Sichuan Airlines and Tibet Airlines), while Tibet Airlines also serves Chongqing and Lhasa with scheduled flights.
