Wizz Air expands European offering with seven routes

On 30 March, Budapest Airport celebrated with a cake on the apron the start of Wizz Air’s twice-weekly flights to Lisbon. Marking the achievement are: Joaquim F. L. Pimpão, CCO of the Portuguese Embassy; Petra Spengler, Wizz Air Ambassador; Pedro Sousa, First Officer of the inaugural flight; Balázs Bogáts, Head of Airline Development, Budapest Airport; Henrique Sousa, Short-Term Planning Engineer, Wizz Air; and Gábor Vásárhelyi, Communications Manager, Wizz Air.

  • Wizz Air added seven new European links to its offering during the course of last week, three of which were launched from its Warsaw Chopin (WAW) base to Dortmund (DTM), Larnaca (LCA) and Lisbon (LIS). The Hungarian ULCC will face competition on three of the seven new additions, with TAP Portugal directly competing on the two Lisbon (LIS) services. Following the launch from Budapest (BUD) to the capital and the largest city of Portugal, the carrier also announced that it will start new services to Bologna and Glasgow on 5 and 13 June respectively from its Hungarian HQ.
