On 30 April, Vilnius Airport commemorated the start of Air Lituanica’s third route to Germany, this time to Hamburg, which is served thrice-weekly. Celebrations included a ribbon cutting at the gate by the airline’s flight crew.
- Air Lituanica increased its presence in the German market with the addition of its third route on 30 April, this time from its Vilnius (VNO) base to Hamburg (HAM). The 999-kilometre sector, which is not flown by any other airline, will be served thrice-weekly by the airline’s 86-seat E175s. Air Lituanica also flies to Munich (four times weekly) and Berlin Tegel (six times weekly) from Vilnius. Commenting on the new route, Deividas Matulionis, Lithuanian Ambassador to Germany, said: “We are delighted to expand our flight geography from Lithuania to Germany. After opening this third route of Air Lituanica to Germany we will have excellent direct connections to this country. This will further boost cooperation in all areas.”
