Air Canada adds two domestic routes to Nanaimo and Comox

On 1 May, Calgary Airport marked the start of Air Canada’s daily flights to Nanaimo with a ribbon cutting and a cake ceremony in the terminal.

  • Air Canada increased its domestic offering with the addition of two new airport pairs launched on 1 May. The Star Alliance member added daily flights between Calgary (YYC) and Nanaimo (YCD) using its 74-seat Q400s. Moreover, it started twice-daily departures on the 135-kilometre sector between Vancouver (YVR) and Comox (YQQ) located on the southern coast of the Comox Peninsula in the Georgia Strait, using its 50-seat Q300s. Air Canada will face competition only on the 737-kilometre route to Nanaimo from WestJet’s daily services.
