Paul Berry, Spirit Airlines’ Director of Communications presents Costa Rica’s Tourism Minister, Mauricio Ventura Aragón, with a model plane to celebrate the launch of flights between San Jose and Houston Intercontinental.
- Spirit Airlines on the 28 May, launched services from Houston Intercontinental (IAH) to four international destinations across Central America. Managua (MGA), San Jose (SJO), San Pedro Sula (SAP), and San Salvador (SAL) will operate from the Texan city on either three or four times weekly all operated by the airline’s A320s. All of the routes will face direct competition in the form of United Airlines. The route to San Salvador also faces direct competition from Avianca, who operate a daily service on the city pair.
